Bol raz jeden chlapec menom Jonatán. Mal 6 rokov a nedávno začal chodiť do základnej školy. Bolo to preňho všetko nové a musel čeliť výzvam vyplývajúcim z nových spoločenských kontaktov.

Škriatok vníma, že má chlapec problém a chce mu s tým problémom so spolužiakom pomôcť.

Keď išiel do školy, Teodora oslovil:
„Čau, Teodor, chceš ísť na obed so mnou?“

The Tale of Jonathan and Theodore, Part One, Introduction.

Once upon a time there was a boy named Jonathan. He was 6 years old and had recently started primary school. It was all new to him and he had to face the challenges arising from new social contacts. The children were nice to him and so was the teacher, but there was one classmate, Theodore, who always wanted Jonathan to notice him.

Theodore was very talkative and liked to joke around. He would often go to Jonathan and when Jonathan didn’t notice him and didn’t want to play with him, he would tease him, provoke him. The teacher didn’t see this and Jonathan didn’t know how to resolve the situation.

One day, when his mother has prepared his bed for him to sleep in and read him a bedtime story, Jonathan falls asleep and Ace the Goblin appears in his dream. The leprechaun senses that the boy has a problem and wants to help him with his problem with his classmate.

„Why don’t you talk to him?“ The goblin asks.

„He’s too annoying,“ replied Jonathan. „He’s always chasing and wanting to play with me, but I don’t want to.“

„Maybe he just wants to be your friend,“ said the gnome. „Try to get to know him better.“

Jonathan smiled at the goblin. „I’ll let you know,“ he said.

And so Jonathan woke up the next morning with a new idea. As he walked to school, he approached Theodore:

„Hey, Theodore, do you want to come to lunch with me?“

Theodore was surprised, but agreed. They talked over lunch and Jonathan found out that Theodore was an only child and was already attending his third school, due to the fact that they move frequently as a family, due to his parents working on special projects. Theodore has no friends and feels lonely.

Jonathan understands Theodore’s thinking and why he behaved the way he did. He starts to get along with him and from then on they are best friends. Together they have many adventures.
