Bol raz jeden krásny dvor na okraji malebnej dedinky. Na tomto dvore žilo množstvo domácich zvierat, ktoré sa medzi sebou veľmi dobre poznali a mali sa radi. Hoci každé z nich malo iné schopnosti a povahy, naučili sa spolupracovať a vzájomne si pomáhať.
Najstarší obyvateľ dvora bol kocúr Felix. Bol múdry a mal výborný zmysel pre orientáciu. Vždy vedel, kde nájsť najlepší úkryt alebo kde sa schovať pred búrkou.
Vedľa Felixa žil pes Max. Bol silný, rýchly a veľmi ochranný. Max vždy strážil dvor a staral sa, aby sa žiadni votrelci nepriblížili.
V kurníku bývala sliepka Líza, ktorá bola veľmi šikovná v hľadaní potravy. Mala neuveriteľne citlivý čuch a vedela nájsť červíky a semienka aj tam, kde ich nikto iný nevidel.
V malej ohrádke žil zajačik Hoppy, ktorý bol najrýchlejší z celého dvora. Vedel rýchlo skákať a preskakovať prekážky, čo sa často hodilo pri rôznych dobrodružstvách.
Jedného dňa sa na dvore objavil nový problém. Potok, ktorý pretekal cez dvor, sa po silnom daždi rozvodnil a začal zaplavovať okolie. Zvieratká vedeli, že musia niečo urobiť, aby ochránili svoje domovy.
Kocúr Felix prešiel celý dvor a našiel najlepšie miesto, kde by mohli postaviť hrádzu. Ukázal ostatným, kde začať a kam nosiť materiál.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful courtyard on the outskirts of a picturesque village. In this yard lived many domestic animals that knew each other very well and liked each other very much. Although each of them had different abilities and personalities, they learned to work together and help each other.
The oldest inhabitant of the yard was Felix the cat. He was wise and had an excellent sense of direction. He always knew where to find the best shelter or where to hide from a storm.
