Hlasy v tichom sektore: Mapa vedie do ticha
Len jemné bzučanie techniky a ich vlastný dych.
„Pokojné je dobré,“ povedal Robo, no v hlase mu bolo cítiť napätie.
„Tu je prvý krok, potom druhý a až potom tretí. Skúsme to spolu.“
Trojica prešla miestnosťou presne podľa značiek. Najprv Ami, potom Pipova drobná svetelná projekcia ukázala správne miesto, a napokon Robo urobil posledný krok. V tej chvíli sa z reproduktora ozval krátky hlasový záznam. Nebol hlasný, skôr jemný a trochu zachrípnutý, akoby pochádzal z veľmi starého záznamu.
Tri zdroje, jedna pravda
V jednej ležala stará mapa s ručne písanými poznámkami, v druhej stál poškriabaný obrazový panel a v tretej sa zachoval archivovaný úryvok zo stanice. Každý zdroj vyzeral trochu inak. A predsa spolu súviseli.
Pip premietol archivovaný úryvok a začal zapisovať čísla a slová do prehľadného stĺpca.
„A ešte satelitné údaje,“ pripomenula Ami. „Aby sme mali istotu.“
„To sedí presne.“
Skúška dôvery
„A nielen symbol,“ dodala Ami. „Aj poloha. Hra nás naozaj viedla sem, do skutočného miesta.“
V ďalšej komore sa zrazu prehrávanie zastavilo. Svetelné pásy sa spomalili, akoby čakali. Na stene blikol znak pripomínajúci očakávanie. Systém akoby chcel, aby sa títo traja najprv dohodli, než povie čokoľvek ďalšie.
„Teraz už len stlačíme posledný panel a máme to,“ povedal Robo. V hlase mu znova zaznelo jeho staré nedočkavé „poďme hneď“.
Ami ho však zastavila pohľadom. „Nie. Najprv si vypočujme, čo tie záznamy hovoria medzi riadkami. Niečo tu nie je celé.“
Pip sa vzniesol o niečo vyššie. „Správne poradie krokov ešte nebolo potvrdené. Posledný hlas sa bez neho neaktivuje.“
Robo si vzdychol, no potom sa oprel o stenu a mlčky prikývol.
Nebolo to o tlaku. Nebolo to o sile. Bolo to o dohode.
„Takže to nebola chyba,“ zašepkala.
Len stál a počúval.
To bude dôležité.“
V tichom sektore zostali len hlasy minulosti. No pre nich boli už teraz skutočnou cestou ďalej.
Pokračovanie nabudúce…
Robo and the Lost Planet, part 7: Voices in the Quiet Sector
The Map Leads into Silence
When the holographic map on Robo’s wrist lit up for the third time that day, all three of them knew it was time to go. At the edge of the old research area stood a metal entry arch, and behind it lay a quiet sector. Even from far away, it felt strange. There was no hum from the ventilation, no footsteps from other people, and no usual beep from the panels. Only a soft buzz from the machines and the sound of their own breathing.
“Something is here, according to the map,” said Robo as he leaned over the glowing image. His dark curly hair fell over his forehead. “If we go fast through the middle, maybe we’ll find a clue right away.”
Ami brought her AR glasses closer and compared the map with the data they still had from the old satellite. “Wait. The shape of the sector matches exactly the place we once caught in a signal from an old learning game. Look, even that arch has the same shape.”
The small robot Pip floated quietly above the floor, and his LED eyes ran over the data. “The output confirms an unusual pattern,” he said in a precise voice. “I recommend a short analysis before entering.”
“Analysis?” Robo folded his arms. “But we already have the map.”
The First Voices from the Walls
“And that is exactly why it is worth checking it again,” Ami answered calmly. “If it also matches the satellite data, it is a stronger clue.”
For a moment, the boy said nothing. Then he nodded. “Okay. But only for a short time.”
Soon they were inside the silent sector. It was a long space with narrow hallways, old speakers in the walls, and light strips that shone only in a weak blue color. Nothing moved here. The air itself seemed to flow less than in other places.
“It’s… too quiet here,” Ami whispered.
“Quiet is good,” Robo said, but there was still tension in his voice.
Thin marks stretched across the floor. Pip lowered himself closer and projected them onto his screen. “The shape of the steps is important,” he warned. “Some panels react to the order of movement, not to strength.”
The boy reached his hand toward a control panel on the wall. “Then I’ll try to start it.”
“Not so fast,” Ami stopped him. “Let’s look at the marks first.”
As soon as he pressed the panel too early, nothing happened. No light. No sound. Only silence, which felt as if it were warning them.
“See?” Pip turned slightly in the air. “The system does not respond to sudden input.”
Ami knelt down and pointed at the lines on the floor. “Here is the first step, then the second, and only after that the third. Let’s do it together.”
Three Sources, One Truth
The three of them crossed the room exactly as the marks showed. First Ami stepped, then Pip’s tiny light projection showed the correct place, and finally Robo took the last step. At that moment, a short voice recording came from a speaker. It was not loud. It was gentle and a little rough, as if it came from a very old recording.
“If you are listening to this,” said a man’s voice, “you are in the right place. The communication beacon is still connected to Niva-7. Look for light under silence.”
Robo smiled. “There it is! I knew we were close.”
Ami did not rush to celebrate. “That is only the first voice. We need to find out if the recording is complete.”
Pip beeped softly. “Recorded length: seven seconds. The rest is hidden or separated.”
“Then on we go,” Ami decided.
The next part of the sector was divided into small archive rooms. In one room lay an old map with handwritten notes. In another stood a scratched image panel. In the third, a saved station clip remained. Each source looked a little different. And yet they were all connected.
“This is like a game with three keys,” Robo muttered.
“Exactly,” Ami said with a smile. “One key does not open everything.”
She began to compare the symbols on the map with the shapes on the panel. Her fingers moved quickly and carefully. On one corner of the map, she saw a sign like a small arch with a dot. The same shape appeared on the image panel too, but only partly.
A Test of Trust
“Something is missing here,” she said after a while. “The second half of the sign is gone.”
Pip projected the archive clip and started writing numbers and words in a neat column. “Two recordings are incomplete,” he announced. “If we depend on only one, the result will not be accurate.”
Robo looked at the three sources side by side. “Then we join them. Map, panel, recording.”
“And satellite data too,” Ami reminded him. “So we can be sure.”
The boy nodded. This time, he really looked at what the others were saying. When Pip compared the numbers, it turned out that all three sources pointed to the same sign. The same symbol that Ami had once seen in the game map from the old signal.
“Look!” Robo exclaimed. “It matches exactly.”
“And not just the symbol,” Ami added. “The position too. The game really led us here, to a real place.”
In the next chamber, the playback suddenly stopped. The light strips slowed down, as if they were waiting. A sign on the wall blinked, and it looked like expectation. The system seemed to want these three to agree first before it said anything more.
“Now we only need to press the last panel and we’re done,” Robo said. Old impatience came back into his voice.
But Ami stopped him with a look. “No. First let’s listen to what the recordings say between the lines. Something here is not complete.”
The Final Voice
Pip rose a little higher. “The correct order of steps has not been confirmed yet. The last voice will not activate without it.”
Robo sighed, then leaned against the wall and nodded in silence. “All right. I’ll watch what matches. You two look for patterns.”
This moment was more important than it first seemed. Each of them did what he or she was best at, but this time they did not work separately. Ami read the symbols and the order, Pip compared the exact data, and Robo noticed when the information came together. Right then, they saw something strange.
The sound filters in the room reacted only to their shared agreement. When at least two of them agreed on one step and the third confirmed it with another source, the lights shone brighter for a second. It was not about pressure. It was not about strength. It was about agreement.
“So the system is testing whether we trust each other,” Ami said quietly.
“Or whether we know how to listen,” Pip added.
Robo thought about it. “Maybe both.”
In the end, they agreed on the correct order. First Ami showed the sign on the map, then Pip compared the archive clip with the original numbers, and finally Robo confirmed that all three sources pointed to one place in the middle of the chamber. When the last panel glowed softly, the whole sector gave a low, deep sound.
The Pulse Toward the Observatory
A new voice came from the speaker. This time it was a woman’s voice. It was calm, but there was an old urgency in it too.
“If you are listening to this message, it means you have joined three parts of the truth,” said the former researcher. “We protected the communication beacon near Niva-7 so that no one could read it from only one side. The information was split on purpose. Not so it could be lost, but so only those who work together could find it.”
Ami did not move for a moment. “So it was not a mistake,” she whispered.
“No,” the voice continued. “Whoever wants to find the way to Niva-7 must listen to others. And must trust data that complete one another.”
Robo slowly smiled. He no longer pushed forward. He just stood there and listened.
Then the voice mentioned the familiar symbol, the same one they had seen on the map. When the researcher said it, a blue band of light lit up on the wall above them too. It was clear that the game had not lied. It had pointed to a real place.
“We were right,” Pip said softly, as if he did not want to disturb the rest of the recording.
“And also something more,” Ami added. “Someone in the past split the information into several parts on purpose. So only the team that truly agrees could find it.”
The Last Clue
When the voice ended, the chamber grew calm again. There was no echo left in the space. Only a soft light and the feeling that the answer was closer than before.
Suddenly, a new signal appeared on Robo’s wrist. On the holographic map, a weak pulsing dot began to glow. It pointed toward a locked observatory at the edge of the station.
“Look at that,” Ami said, leaning closer. “The pulse matches the old symbol from the map exactly.”
Pip quietly recorded the frequency of the signal. “The data repeats in a regular rhythm. That will be important.”
For the first time since entering the sector, Robo did not rush ahead. Instead, he looked at his friends and waited for what they would say.
“So what now?” he asked.
Ami smiled. “Now we know where to go next.”
“And we also know,” Pip added, “that without comparing three sources, we would never have found this message.”
The boy nodded. “And without you, I would have rushed too soon.”
The three of them walked back along the hallway toward the exit. The blue lights behind them slowly faded, but their steps were more certain than at the start. The silent sector had given them more than a voice. It had given them trust too.
When they stepped outside, the air felt much more alive. It was already getting dark over the area, but on the map a new point still shone. The locked observatory was waiting for more research. And somewhere there, behind its walls, another part of the secret about Niva-7 might be hidden.
The Last Clue
“I like this,” Robo said with a laugh. “Another clue, a new level.”
Ami laughed too. “But this time with your head, not just speed.”
Pip gave a happy beep. “Recommended method: go together.”
And so they left calmer, united, and a little wiser. In the silent sector, only the voices of the past remained. But for them, those voices were already a real path forward.
To be continued…
